Late Breaking Friday News :: A New Page Rank Update?

Something weird is going on, and it looks like we might be in the midst of another page rank update. All of the rest of the blogs on this domain are up from a PR of 2 to a PR of 4, except for CraftBoom, which has gotten some serious link love, but is wavering between a PR0 and a PR2.

Annoyingly, my own blog here is still at a PR of 3, despite the fact that I dropped all text link advertising, put in a reconsideration request, and the more simple and stupid fact that www.emomsathome.com/blog/ is the most linked-to page on this domain. Don’t get me started.

I think Google does this late on Fridays on purpose. Anything changing on your sites? I’m curious to hear about what’s happening with your page rank!

Find out what’s going on with your Google Page Rank with the iWebTools Page Rank Checker and the Page Rank Prediction Tool.

Hm, very coolness. We hit PR 4 today. We were PR 3 last time we checked. Thanks for the tip, because I probably wouldn’t have noticed.

You might want to consider checking your meta tags. Craftboom has both meta keywords and a description. The main blog doesn’t. And remember, all SEO techniques don’t work on all websites. Flexibility is key and then you should constantly test and measure to see what is working.

I saw people talking a bit about this last night at Digital Point, but not everyone was seeing it. Sounds like it’s rolling out everywhere now.

Kim, I doubt that it has anything to do with meta tags. Sure, implementing them won’t hurt but they are not that much of in important part of the equation in order to make a difference in this case.

Wendy this is quite stressful, I’m sure. I hope you sort it out, soon. I haven’t noticed a change for my site.

I hope you get it sorted, I know this is no consolation to you but I didn’t know about the tools and I am very excited as I have a PR of 4. Very good as I am having a bit of a downer and can’t get focussed. Des says he has had a page rank of 5 forever and can’t seem to get it to rise?

Good, it wasn’t just me then. LOL I was looking at some searches to see if my friend could get ranked for the keywords, and the pageranks were missing….

The funny thing was, the pageranks of Australian pages were fine.

Small update: I’ve read that PR may go up and down and up and down before it settles over the next few days. Spent an hour or so researching. There is a PR predictor at Dig that many people were using.

Not too sure if it’s accurate, it’s giving us a prediction of 5 once this is over.

Wendy, I noticed a big jump from PR1 to PR5. I hope it’s because I’m doing something right, but common sense tells me that this kind of leap doesn’t make much sense. My site has only been online for less than a year. Maybe Google is just testing something?

Last time I checked my blog had a PR of 5. The predictor said I had insufficient backlinks to predict future rank.

Couldn’t quite understand the PageRank checker but mostly it said 5 with a several Datacenter down notices and a couple of NaN notices. So I guess this means my blog www.entrepreMusings.com site is still a 5!

My corporate site www.babblesoft.com is a PR 4.

I wouldn’t have checked or noticed if not for your post. Good to know.

I suspect you see a flood of posts about Page Rank today and I have seen some go from 4 to 0 , so I guess I should be happy I still have page rank

Well I checked my site on the first one and it says I have a PR of 2 but with the second site it says that I don’t have enough backlinks to predict future PR.
