To CRAM a Lot of MP3 Listening into a Tiny Bit of Time October 6, 2006

Sony Walkman MP3 Player - NW-E005GREEN

I mentioned earlier I am going to a certification training next week. Because of this, I wrote all of my I Want One blog posts a week ago and they are on autopilot through the middle of the month (I love how productive it is to post this way!!).

In order to be ready for the training, I had to cram a ton of audio CD listening into a super-short amount of time as a course prerequisite. So even though I wrote that I wanted this spiffy Sony MP3 player a week ago, I had my fingers crossed that by the time you read this, it’s not something I wanted anymore - hopefull it’s something I have!

The Power Station - Portable Electronics Recharger

Although my kids are getting older now (my youngest is four), you would think they were all 2 years old with the things they STILL get into and the messes they make! GAH!

My son especially LOVES plugging in - and unplugging - our cell phones (And then leaves them over the house. Usually under cushions. While the phone is on vibrate. Grrrrr. )

But with this little phone caddy, I think I could actually encourage him to put the darn thing away in it’s proper place by persuading him think the caddy is a TOY.

Ooooooo, I’m so sneaky! (Yeah, I know. I’m skeptical it will work too.)

Sony Single Tray DVD Recorder - RDR-GX330

If your kids are anything like my kids, you HATE buying them DVDs - because within just a few short weeks [days???] the DVDs are scratched and ruined.

Paying extra for Comcast DVR was the best investment we have ever made - I haven’t bought a DVD since, and we simply record all of the latest movies released every week!

But then I thought about the times when we need to take the DVDs to a different place - like this weekend when we will be at a sales seminar and the kids will be spending lots of time in a hotel room with a sitter. NOW is the time we need a DVD recorder to grab the movies and make ‘em mobile!

To Read in the Wee Hours September 13, 2006

Effortless Over-Ear Book Light

I have to admit that one of the things I LOVED about working in the city was the train ride. It was a guaranteed two hours each day of quiet time and relaxation. I am an avid reader and could breeze through books weekly thanks to this lovely mode of transportation.

Yet now that I have no commute, I have had a harder time carving out time to read. I do have a little glass candle that sits on my head board, but after it fell on my face last week, I’m reluctant to use it to source lighting for my reading ;)

This spiffy little ear light gagdet could be just the ticket for lowering the stack of books next to my bedside.

To Catch Really Embarrassing Moments September 1, 2006

I haven’t had a lot of luck with cameras in the past. I lose parts, drop them, or even overwrite first day of school pictures within hours of taking them (Yep. As in last Wednesday. Go me.)

Yet I have made the decision that I really need a better digital camera. The last time I priced these things out, I was looking at a Nikon CoolPix 5 Megapixel camera for $1200. Yes, it’s been a really long time!

I couldn’t believe you could get a 7+ Megapixel camera for under $500 bucks! Now that rocks!!

To Bring my Kids up to Warp Speed August 25, 2006

My kids have inherited my old computer - from like 5 years ago. I installed a Windows Update on the system long ago and the thing has never been the same. Try 2 full minutes from icon click to browser window open. Yes, it’s that bad!

Now that Back to School is… well, BACK… my kids need to get on the internet on a regular basis. This HP Pavilion is only $250 smackers after rebate.

What a DEAL! What am I writing for? I should be ordering!!

To Blast High Energy Dance Music and Stay up all Night Blogging August 19, 2006

Sony XM Ready Shelf System - CMT-HPR99XM

I luuuuuuv to dance. I will boogie down in the car, and my 4 and 6 year old will dance along in the back seat - all while my poor 11 year old daughter tries to crawl onto the floor in the front seat.

Since my office is almost ready, and it’s really more of a walk in closet than an office (I’ve seen bigger closets…), what better treat than to get this tiny but powerful bookshelf sound system from Sony?

That way I can keep my energy up and boogie at my desk - to keep me up all night writing great posts now that dear Darren sent me so much traffic that I don’t know what to do with myself… ;)

Panasonic Ultra-Compact Digital Palmcorder PV-GS300 MultiCam Camcorder - Mini-DV - 16:9 Widescreen - 2.7 Color LCD - 10x Optical/700x Digital

When I was little, my dad was always filming us. When I was REALLY little, he even filmed us with real film that didn’t record audio. But that didn’t stop my dad from filming me while I sang for the holiday show at school…

But now I don’t even own a Camcorder - or whatever they call them these days. God, that makes me sound so old!

So I want one: the Panasonic Ultra-Compact Digital Palmcorder PV-GS300 MultiCam Camcorder - Mini-DV - 16:9 Widescreen - 2.7 Color LCD - 10x Optical/700x Digital wachamacallit.

Why? So I can be a good mom, record the moving memories of my kids, and get rid of the guilt every time I go to one of their school events and snap pictures with my cell phone. :)
