Teens Ask Deepak: All the Right Questions My oldest daughter is almost 12 - and teenage angst is already in full force in my household. Admitedly, she is much more mature and grounded than I was at her age - but she’s 12, I’m her mom, and heads clash. End of story!

I found this book today and just loved the premise - a spiritual leader’s answers to a teenager’s questions on spirituality and life. I can’t wait to grab a copy and share it with my “Mini Me”.

The Essential Guinea Pig (92 Pages)

We got a Guinea Pig this weekend. My kids have been relentless about getting one ever since we saved a chipmunk from our rodent-hunting cats, tried to keep it, then it got out of the cage and we spent days trying to catch it again (we promptly set it free after that!!).

So, I must admit the thing is darn cute. Small and furry. Adorable. But I don’t know the first thing about Guinea Pigs. I’ve never owned one. So to be sure we can keep the thing alive, I had better grab a copy of “The Essential Guinea Pig“. Yep. Better grab one fast, actually…

To Encourage my Kids to Dream Big Too! August 22, 2006

World's Largest Write-On Map Mural

I know I’m a bit of a dreamer at times. It helps to keep me focused on positive things and positive outcomes - and allows me to take my business places that I wouldn’t be able to get to if I simply settled into “life as usual”.

I do try to keep my feet on the ground while I reach for the stars. I want to be an example to my kids, not a flaky mom! At the same time, I really encourage them to dream big and think of the bigger picture. A huge map like this would be a great tool to remind them of how good they have it - and of how both big and small they are in this world!
