My Favorite Friday Distractions

So, I bet you’re wondering, what does eMom do when she is avoiding work? Well, since that happens only .000000001% of the time, not much (hahahahaha - right). But when my mind needs a break, here are some of my favorite places to unwind online:

**Char runs her Casual Fridays on Casual Keystrokes and sometimes gives away goodies (which is nice because I can actually have a chance at winning some of them unlike on Momsational!)

Real Hobbit House**I watch the Neatorama headlines and usually get sucked in when they find especially weird or cool things, like this hobbit house or a story on asphalt-eating bacteria. Yep, you read that right.

**Sometimes I just want to look at pretty things (so girly of me, I know…). That’s when I head over to Design Sponge, where even the ads are eye candy. And right now they are doing all of these gift-guide thingys that would break just about any budget on the planet if you got everything you wanted (as in, all of it!)

**And finally, no distracted Friday would be complete without a gaping stare at the photos over at Stuck in Customs…  he uses this amazing HDR effect in which he composites different exposures into one photo that is literally breathtaking… he’s good at sucking a whole hour out of my day sometimes… jerk. ;)

    Must… not… get… distracted!

Seriously, this Friday my distraction will be a play date for my daughter and a friend of hers from school. It was going to be a picnic in the park, so you know it is raining here today.

I don’t give myself much time to distract myself on Fridays. It is the day I allow myself to check stats freely, which unless I’m tracking something specifically I don’t do during the week.

Thanks for the mention Wendy! We’re giving away a beautiful basket of relaxing goodies today - a perfect gift for yourself or someone on your list.

Fridays are so hard to stay focused. I went shopping this morning and now have to figure out how to get something done today.

    Have a great weekend!

Like I need more ways to get distracted. I think that’s why Google Reader was invented. I think I could spend the majority of a day just on that thing alone. Anyway, I wanted to share with you the hobbit house I’m currently swooning over. My dad is considering building a “tiny house” on his property, and I’m trying to talk him into one of these!

    Because I just can’t stop myself . . . here’s what a tiny house is. Aren’t they delicious?

How compulsive am I today? I discovered that the link I left for the awesome hobbit house didn’t work. The address is http://www.simondale.net/house/.

I love that photo, now I want to go there. I have zero time as well. I’m starting to decorate our tree and put of decorations around the house. My computer is on and every time I need a moment away from decorating, I take a peek at the computer. I just posted on grammology and I wonder how many mistakes, I’m always doing 6 things at once…like you its non changeable it’s our life. We all need company…thanks for sharing.

Fantastic photo of Hong Kong by night. Brings back memories of the time I spent in Hong Kong and saw the magnificent beauty of the night come alive when I rode the cable car to the top & overlooked the city.
