Now that Christmas is over, but the kids’ winter vacation isn’t, I’m looking for activities to keep my girls busy. However, I’m also looking to get rid of Christmas clutter! That’s why I love making crafts out of leftover Christmas cards. I accomplish both goals at the same time! Multi-tasking once again.
This year my girls made kissing balls out of our leftover Christmas cards. I chose to hang mine up, but smaller versions make nice Christmas tree ornaments too.
Here’s What You Need to Make Kissing Balls Out of Leftover Christmas Cards:
- 8 Christmas Cards
- Pencil
- Coffee Mug
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Glue Stick
- Ribbon
- Paper streamer
Here’s How to Make Kissing Balls Out of Leftover Christmas Cards:
1. Trace a circle with a coffee mug on the blank side of each card.
2. Cut out the eight circles.
3. On the blank side of each circle, use the ruler and pencil to draw a triangle so each corner of the triangle is at the edge of the circle.
4. Fold the edges of the circle along the lines of the triangle so the edges turn up on the decorated side.
5. Create four pairs out of the eight circles by gluing each pair together at one edge.
6. Continue to create a sphere by gluing the four pairs to each other using the remaining edges.
7. Create a hole to hang the kissing ball by inserting the pencil tip through one edge.
8. Insert ribbon through the hole to hang the kissing ball.
9. Glue a paper streamer at the bottom of the kissing ball.
Now you have a kissing ball ready to hang. Pucker up!
