Wow. I’m still a little short on words as I think about writing about this new site and how the heck I got here. The feedback has been nothing short of amazing and I’m so deeply grateful to my co-authors and to you loyal readers for helping to make the new eMomsatHome.com launch a success.
The scope of the amount of work that needed to be done to pull this off was, well, more than I care to admit. A huge hug and special thanks go to the team who worked really flipping hard to get it ready to go:
- Steve Johnson :: Tech Wizard of WordPress
- Randa Clay and Sarah Lewis :: Design Queens
- Char Polanosky :: Magical Morale Booster
- My new hosting company pSek :: Stonehenge Solid Support
-
Erika Jurney :: To-do List Disappearing Spells
I freely admitted earlier that I had to let “balance” slide to get it all done. Yesterday I did practically nothing, except ensuring I got a lot more time with my kids, who are happy to have their mom back.
I also treated myself to a trip to Target, probably my favorite treat of all.
Mmmmmm…. Target…….
But now I face… The Aftermath.

Hahaha. I must say your post gave me a good laugh. I have actually been working veraciously to set up a blog too, but dang is it a lot more complicated than I expected! The extra problem is that I’m a MAJOR perfectionist and so my site has to look PERFECT. It has to capture the eyes of the people right away and get them to click on the links. But it definitely doesn’t do that yet! I’ll tell you trying to do it ALL by myself was a bad bad bad idea. I’ve seriously spent more hours trying to create the blog, than it would have taken me to “work” during that time and get enough money to have a web designer to set it up. I finally kicked in the bucket though and now I’ve got a web design company working on it. Thanks for your blog! I appreciate it. I can’t remember which article in particular I found helpful, but I bookmarked your site for a reason, and probably clipped some of your stuff. I’ll definitely be stopping by here to study what you’ve done a little more too! Good luck with your site!!

Those photos make me laugh So you really are human like the rest of us? Good to know.
It is a blast working with you!
Wow! My desk and kitchen look a lot the same but I do not have something as cool and amazing as emomsathome.com to assign the blame. So, I shall blame it on my husband! LOL.
Nice work…I am a new fan!

Don’t be confused, Wendy Piersall is NOT human. She just happens to be a robot that’s only good at blogging, and making money online
Celebrate all of your hard work by hiring a maid for a day. It won’t solve your inbox or desktop problems, but the kitchen problems and any other household chores will disappear right before your eyes. Go ahead, hire someone. You deserve it!
congrats again to you and your team!
i am impressed that your “aftermat” photos look like my “everyday” photos!
Whoa, Nelly! Good luck with all that aftermath
Oh wow… that would take a week to clean up. Good luck. =P
Lol, those are some great photos!
Congratulations to all of those people that helped behind the scenes. Now, who wants to help Wendy clean up that aftermath?
Derek - you’re just a hop, skip and a jump away - see you at 5?
Umm, yeah…uhhh, that would put me totally out of balance!
Wendy, if I didn’t love you before, I love you now after those photos. That is my desk and my kitchen. Exactly. And I only had my eBay Selling blog to worry about.
I am incredibly proud to be part of your team and to share space with such fabulous writers. Thank you.
Now I’m off to eat pizza out and not allow the word “blog” to enter my brain for at least 12 hours.
I see you’ve saved the best work for last! Your pictures put a smile in my day - I can relate to that.
Haha…your “aftermath” is my “everyday”…and I don’t even have kids!
Kudos on the new site. It’s gorgeous!
Congratulations on a successful launch Wendy! You are more amazing with each passing day, and pulling this off while staying married with children is no small feat! Kudos to you (and your hubby) for this HUGE move!
Can’t wait to see what’s next
Darren at ProBlogger asked for bloggers to share their workspace photos, most of them were crispy clean … yours would definitely balance them out the mix!

Great work Wendy! After all, it’s the aftermath that we’re really seeking isn’t it?
LOL - love the pics!
Two quotes for you.
“I’d rather have a happy family than a clean house.” - College friend’s mom
“If momma ain’t happy - ain’t nobody happy.” - Something everyone knows is true.
i hope your new site, despite the domestic mess - has you very happy
Hey:
I’m your answer, I clean for links…:)
Great effort, congratulations.
I love it, especially the desk , it’s great that you share this , so we know that we are in good company when we get obsessed with a new project.
There was a story recently in a paper here how one of australia’s most successful businessmen Gerry Norman of Harvey Norman fame ,had a very messy desk- hasn’t stopped him making millions
What’s with all the emails? People congratulating you or problems or something else?
ahaha…what pictures! that gave me a good laugh. Reminds me of times when i had to rush to meet deadlines… and the aftermath? would be hell to clear up.
That’s some aftermath, all right. Yikes! It seems pretty reasonable, though, considering how much work you did to get the launch ready. Thank you once again (I’m sure we’ll all keep saying that) for allowing me to be a part of the excitement! I am so impressed when I read the other blogs and think that I get to be associated with them!
Wendy, that is so funny, however I can relate to some of the other commenters, that this is what my space often looks like with only one blog!!
I bet you’ll get everything all back in order quickly, now that you’ve lauched your new blogs, WTG Wendy!
Love it!
I noticed it the first time I visited your blog - and it is even more evident now… you have a realism that shines through. Thanks for sharing!
Now, I’m trying to just get my home in order before I do my own launch… knowing the ‘aftermath’ will be coming… ugh.

Hahaha, I laughed out loud when I saw your photos. Classic Wendy!
Wendy - I can totally relate to the pictures! My desk is rarely neat and tidy and the kitchen sink and I have an ongoing battle.
Seriously, get a cleaning service. I did this summer. They come every other week, it is affordable and they SAVE me money. It takes 2 of them 2 hours to scrub my house from top to bottom. It costs me $112 - I can make way more than that in the 4 hours it would take little old me to do a half-baked job. My family is now hooked! And the kids actually pick up their rooms willingly if they know the cleaning ladies are coming - because they love all the special touches - like the kleenex box fan Plus, I can focus on the surface pick up knowing that underneath it all is clean.
Congrats on the amazing launch, and take your time restoring order.
Haha now those images are priceless. They kind of look like my desk after my kids use it. Congrats on the launch Wendy, it was a blockbuster
Hey Wendy,
If I could only show this picture to all my prospects and coaching clients. I’d title it “This is what hard work looks like!”. Lol.
Wendy is definitely human, no robot, and is very good at many things. I am very glad, she stumbled into my life!
Your house looks like my house! I had seven kids here this weekend and a bunch of guys hammering in the basement. I am determined to see the bottom of my sink today. But first, I have to do laundry as the oldest kid had to fish out blue jeans from the dirty pile…
Wendy, as the others have said your photos are hilarious! Your kitchen photo I swear looks EXACTLY like mine–down to the Splenda bag on the counter also, and I didn’t just have a big launch so I have no good reason for it like you do! There, feel better? LOL

Urrrghhhh!
I try to avoid looking at that kinda mess in my house, and now I see it on your blog! Arrgghh! Nightmare!
Oh my, that’s too funny! It’s nice to know someone else has days like that too. Mine is the result of blogging, kids first time football practice and cheerleading.
I love your site and really enjoyed your post.
