Leap Year Party Ideas

I was very pleased when one of my readers asked for Leap Year party ideas for a sleepover she is having. It never occurred to me to write about Leap Year, so I’m glad she mentioned it! So my daughter and I began brainstorming and looking around the internet for some fun Leap Year party ideas. We found some fun games, crafts and snacks at a variety of sites including DLTK-kids.com, FamilyFun.com, CraftersCommunity.com and even the local news website for Corpus Christi, Texas. Corpus Christi knows how to throw a great Leap Year party!

Leap Year Party Ideas:

Leap Year Frogs - These are a fun and simple craft for kids to do at school or home!

Leap Year Word Searches - These are fun for kids of all ages!

Musical Lily Pads - While the people throwing the Leap Year party in Corpus Christi didn’t elaborate on this idea, clearly it’s a take off on the traditional musical chairs game. If I were throwing the party, I would use green card stock and cut out lily pads about 18″ wide.

Leap Frog Relays - I did these at my daughter’s backyard birthday party this year and they were a big hit! Of course it was 70 degrees out and not 20 degrees like it is now. Can you tell this is one of the Texas ideas? But if you are fortunate enough to either live in a very large house or somewhere warm, this is a great Leap Year party idea.

Leap Frog Bean Bag Craft - This cool craft is not only a fun party idea, but also a great party favor!

Leap Year Party Ideas

Origami Leap Frog - My oldest daughter loves origami and since my reader is hosting a Leap Frog party for older girls, I thought this would be a fun idea for them.

Leap Frog Cupcakes - These are adorable and very easy to make!

Leap Year Party Ideas

The Muppet Movie - With all these frog activities, I had to include the most famous frog ever . . . Kermit!

Here are the Leap Year party ideas I found so far. I better hurry and find more before next week or they won’t be helpful for another four years!
