Freelance Inspiration

This was an exciting week for us here at Freelance Parent because several of you decided to Stumble Tamara’s post on Finding Your Niche.  That’s been a lot of fun, so thanks to all who have given us a thumbs up or taken the time to add a review!  In that post, she talked a lot about focusing your energies on subjects that you enjoy.  Let’s top off the week with a similar reminder from Francoise Bertaut de Motteville:

“The true way to render ourselves happy is to love our work and find in it our pleasure.”

When we get bogged down in the business aspects of freelancing (like how to open bank accounts or whether or not we actually need a niche to succeed), it’s helpful to remember the reasons we chose this work in the first place.  Sure, we may have to occasionally force ourselves to be productive, but let’s not forget to revel in the fact that we are able to something that we absolutely love to do.

That really does make us fortunate, doesn’t it?

Lorna, just dropped in to check out your blogs…I have to say I am very impressed and proud to know you. You have come a long way from that gal in school and I think it is fantastic. Keep up the good work, I will be stumbling into this site more often now.
