ScreamFree: learning to relate with others in a calm, cool, and connected way, taking hold of your own emotional responses no matter how anyone else chooses to behave; learning to focus on yourself and take care of yourself for the world’s benefit.
Hal Edward Runkel takes on a lot in this new parenting book. He not only has a parenting vision, he has a vision for how he wishes the world were, and that’s a big challenge.
He advocates for parents having their own identities and lives as people first, parents second. His biggest piece of advice is to “Just stay calm.”
Does this sound like a book you need to read? Fortunately I have FIVE copies available to give away — yay!

Wow! And I thought I was the only one beating myself up for being a “yeller”! I try extremely hard not to, but there are those moments, especially at bedtime, when my 5 year old gets cranked up, when its time to calm down. I think I “yell” the most when Im talking to her, in simple terms, like “take your clothes off and let’s get a bath”, but she’s too busy looking at the dog, so when I say What did I say “I dont know” ughhhh
Oh I feel like this book was written for me!
Cheaper then anger management.
