Win the new Veggie Tales Movie: “The Wonderful Wizard of Ha’s”

Veggie TalesVeggie Tales” movies are faith-based shows which strive to teach the stories of the Bible in a way which appeals to young children. In this parody of The Wizard of Oz, the story of the prodigal son is told.

The Wonderful Wizard of Ha’s is the follow-up to our first successful movie parody, VeggieTales: Lord of the Beans, which proved itself a breakout hit in 2005. By presenting faith-based stories through parodies of popular movies, literature and music, we are able to connect with families in a culturally relevant way.

Win a subscription to the “Tessy & Tab” Reading Club for Kids

Tessy and Tab Reading Club for KidsAimed at kids 2 - 5 years old, the Tessy & Tab Reading Club for Kids is a great way to get your child interested in reading.

Every two weeks an envelope arrives with your child’s name on it — a thrill all by itself — and inside is a sturdy, boldly illustrated, child-size magazine with a simple story and wonderful pictures. Every issue focuses on a single letter of the alphabet as well as a number, and it ends with a coloring page.

Chip reading Tessy & TabMy kids — even the 2.5 year old as you can see from the photo :) — really enjoy these magazines, and they do feel quite special when I announce that they have gotten mail.

Win the recently re-released “The Jungle Book” and celebrate its 40th Anniversary

The Jungle Book DVDStraight from the Disney Vault, The Jungle Book 2-Disc Platinum Edition DVD will finally be available on October 2nd. In my opinion, the music is what makes this movie extra-special, and I just love hearing my kids singing “Bear Necessities” while dancing around the house.

Don’t think this was an important and inspirational early movie? Check out how the animation from The Jungle Book has influenced more recent Disney works like The Lion King and Lilo and Stitch. You can also learn more about the director, Woolie Reitherman and his gift as a storyteller.

Win a copy of “Father Knows Less Or: ‘Can I Cook My Sister?’”

Father Knows Less bookAre you looking for a hilarious book to read? Are you not looking for anything that tells you precisely how to parent your children? Are you sick of parenting books that talk down to you?

Then you’re in luck. Today’s giveaway is a really funny book about questions kids ask. And lest you think this is just a cutesy “aw, kids say the darndest things” kind of book, the author actually gives the answers too!

So if you or your child have ever wondered “Why do ships have round windows?” “How much of your body can you lose and still live?” “Is a rainbow hot or cold?” “Why does the chef wear a big white hat?” or “Does the Mona Lisa wear shoes?” then Wendell Jamieson has written the book for you. Interspersed between stories of his own childhood and children are succinct interviews with experts. Note, the people in the clip below are the reason I suspect he decided against writing a book about what the Man on the Street thinks.

And check out the book’s website for more clips, a chance to get your kid’s question in the paperback version, and more.
