“Veggie Tales” movies are faith-based shows which strive to teach the stories of the Bible in a way which appeals to young children. In this parody of The Wizard of Oz, the story of the prodigal son is told.

The Wonderful Wizard of Ha’s is the follow-up to our first successful movie parody, VeggieTales: Lord of the Beans, which proved itself a breakout hit in 2005. By presenting faith-based stories through parodies of popular movies, literature and music, we are able to connect with families in a culturally relevant way.

Yes it is true, I have 3 boys, but if I had girls I would absolutely head over to Oopsie Dazie and grab some cute hair clips, bows and headbands. We’ve got a lot going on this week at Parent Product Reviews, and I thought I’d talk a little today about the best way to enter and monitor my contests.

Each contest gets lots and lots of entries, and if one of those entries is yours you may find yourself wondering if you have won. Well, don’t wonder, just go check the List of Winners after the contest ends.

Peppa Pig has arrived on Nick Jr. It is an animated show about a pig family and is aimed at preschoolers. Focused around the theme of ‘mastering independence’ this show originated in the UK and is only now being broadcast in the US.

Aimed at kids 2 - 5 years old, the Tessy & Tab Reading Club for Kids is a great way to get your child interested in reading.

Every two weeks an envelope arrives with your child’s name on it — a thrill all by itself — and inside is a sturdy, boldly illustrated, child-size magazine with a simple story and wonderful pictures. Every issue focuses on a single letter of the alphabet as well as a number, and it ends with a coloring page.

My kids — even the 2.5 year old as you can see from the photo :) — really enjoy these magazines, and they do feel quite special when I announce that they have gotten mail.

Straight from the Disney Vault, The Jungle Book 2-Disc Platinum Edition DVD will finally be available on October 2nd. In my opinion, the music is what makes this movie extra-special, and I just love hearing my kids singing “Bear Necessities” while dancing around the house.

Don’t think this was an important and inspirational early movie? Check out how the animation from The Jungle Book has influenced more recent Disney works like The Lion King and Lilo and Stitch. You can also learn more about the director, Woolie Reitherman and his gift as a storyteller.
