Spring Break. Entrepreneurship. Neither are for the faint of heart.

This week is my crunch week. Next week, I guarantee you my house will look like this.  I am praying, *praying*, that we can relaunch next week with our new name. Of which yes, since you asked, has been chosen & obtained, and will remain a secret for just a little bit longer. ;)

I have so much to do I can’t even begin to figure out what to put on my Monday Motivation list… but since this little kickstart to the week is starting to become a popular habit among many of you, I had better pull myself together and figure out what needs to be done.

What is the Monday Motivation drill?

Step 1 - let us know what you are going to get done today (your to-do list, so to speak).

Step 2 - put it in a comment below or a post on your own site.

Step 3 - let us know what will motivate you to get it done - a reward, consequences, or whatever you need to think that will ensure you do what you say you are going to do. I’ve found that the public announcement and accountability is a particularly great motivator, but throw down consequences if you really need a kick in the pants to get stuff done! Unless, of course, you are working towards a new laptop too, in which case I think the reward is particularly motivating.

We don’t care how you get it done, we just want to support you in reaching your goals.

Today before I go to sleep I will

  1. Set up emails & adserver with new domain information
  2. Clean out my inbox of 203 emails
  3. Send out new logo info for authors to review

And before the end of the week I will

  1. Have all pages set up in new root level blog
  2. Have all settings/plugins/widgets set up in 2 new blogs
  3. I’m scared to commit to anything else because that is a crapload of work right there

If I don’t have all of this done by the end of the week, I will have 15 pissed off authors on my hands. I’m quivering in my bunny slippers at the mere thought of that. :o

So what are you going to get done today?

Ha. Since I am on the east coast and my dd leaves for school before 7am, I have already:
1. printed new orders
2. packed the 2 orders that ship today
3. cleaned out the new molds
4. switched out the old molds for the new molds
5. started glazing banks that need to ship tomorrow.

Before bed today I will:
6. finish glazing banks and fire them
7. write new post for my blog
8. play with my dog because he won’t leave me alone
9. and take my dd shopping so she can spend her birthday money before it burns a hole in her pocket.

This week I will:
1. ship the 12 piggy banks outta here
2. bill the company for that order
3. pour my brand spankin’ new molds
4. paint my butt off because I am starting to fall behind and I don’t want to
5. call amex and change my checking account

Good Luck with your list Wendy. It seems a little more intimdating than mine.

Denise’s last blog post..Mmmm Mmmmm Monday!

One kid was on spring break last week, and this week I have two at home. Right now, I have a house full of five kids and it’s that hell hour before dinner.

I have one more article to do before I start dinner and sit down to watch Dancing with the Stars (go, Marlee Matlin!!!). With five kids in the house, that’s all I can accomplish today.

Holy cow, Karen - I was reading your comment thinking “What the heck is she talking about with ‘hell hour before dinner.’?”

I swear I thought it was about noon - I can’t believe it’s already 4pm! What a DAY!

Update - not sure if I can get emails set up today - we’re having issues getting the new cPanel set up. And I can’t do anything else on this stuff because we need to nuke and re-set up all of our new blogs.

*sigh* I love technology. I love technology. I love technology.

First, Wendy - CONGRATS on the new name! I really can’t wait to see the new web site! GL getting the blogs re-setup.

A late start, but my list includes:

Today
- clear out / file / etc 400+ emails in my inbox and sent items folder
- do some more work on my blog template (re-working template w/ some tweaks, and making it validate)

This Week
- re-assess goals / update whiteboard in office with to do list for the week and upcoming month
- gather ALL documents for our taxes (yeah, I know - I’ve put this off way too long already!)

I know I have some client work, but that will depend on how quickly they get back to me with feedback, etc. The priority is really on me getting myself organized. The start of a new month always motivates me for this!

As a reward, I’ll take that relaxing bath that I’ve been promising myself for the last month…

CRAZY week. Knee is bothering me so seeing doctors. Already spent over half the day yesterday in waiting rooms, and more today.

BUT — Fixed up my website, did my mission statement and slogan and goals for my writing, and got the new blog sorted out. Somehow, I’m still not sure how. Pleased as punch! :)

Now, for the rest of the week, I’ll try to maintain as best I can because things are kind of hectic and I’m not at my best.

Can’t wait for the new site Wendy, but don’t rush on my account. Sending positive thoughts your way that it will all work smoothly for you, and won’t be too stressful. >:D<
