Weekend Conversation :: Who is (and isn’t) Going to Blog World Expo in Vegas?

I mentioned yesterday that I am speaking at the Blog World Expo in Vegas next week - the topic will be on Community Building with Dave Nalle from BlogCritics.org, which will certainly make for a interesting presentation. Dave does something I have never been able to pull off - build community around politics. In fact, I have had political conversations destroy communities I have built… so I think we’re all in for a treat next Thursday.

So I want to know - any of you going to be in Vegas next week? If so, drop me a note here so that we can make sure we connect!

What presentations are a ‘must attend’ for you? I’m particularly looking forward to Raising Capital for Your New Media Business in case I ever want to go that route.

If you aren’t going, I’m curious - why not? Is it time, cost, travel? Did you already go to SOBCon, BlogHer, or the B4B conference this year? Or are you planning on doing other in-person networking instead?

And if you are last minute like me, you can still buy your ticket and get a discount via the eMoms discount code - just enter the code EMHVIP.

Thanks to Tom, Lisa, Lornadoone, Laura, Naomi Dunford, bAngela, Mother Earth, Maura, & Karen for sounding off last week about their biggest successes as an entrepreneur!

I’ve wanted to go many of these blogging conferences, but I haven’t necessarily felt “legitimate” enough to attend thus far. Now that I’m maintaing four or five blogs, I guess I’ll have to retire that excuse and stick with the “I can’t afford it . . . yet.” There’s also the impending arrival of our bundle of joy that will either keep me locked in the house for several months or drive me to find a conference to attend for “professional” reasons. ;-)

I really, really wanted to go, but as things turned out that time is completely unavailable due to family obligations. I was pretty frustrated when I found out that the two overlapped.

I’ll be there, Wendy, and being able to meet you other than virtually will be great. As for choosing sessions, it’s been seriously challenging, with so much to choose from.
