It’s Monday, I’m only partially motivated, and I’m in a house FULL of distractions today:
-The kids are on spring break.
-It’s supposed to be 80 degrees today (global warming does have its perks).
-I have an overwhelming to-do list a mile long thanks to the Elite guys.
-After being out of town last week, my house is filthy gross and I’m still not caught up with all of it.
-To top it all off, I haven’t done a thing to get my info product done, and I made a rather big commitment to the readers of this site to have certain milestones met by this Saturday.
I have a lot on my plate and I’m determined to get through it. So I need a little Monday Motivation.
Here’s how it works. And it would be good if you played along, because I know you have stuff to do!
- Throw up a comment on this site or a post on your own site with your To-Do list for today. Everything you say you’re going to do you must do. Or you’ll have to pay…
- …The consequences - post what will you HAVE to do if you don’t get your stuff done.
For example, today I commit to:
Cleaning out my inbox (this is becoming a pattern, I see!)Call my bank about the mysterious check that was cashed against my business accountWrite and send questions to all of my info product intervieweesSet up my Skype to record those conversations1.5 hours writing my eBookSpend .5 hours getting caught up on commenting ’round the blogosphereLaunch my PPC affiliate campaign if possible (waiting on info from others, so I can only commit to things I can control)
If I don’t complete these things before I go to bed tonight, I will cut 8 inches off of my hair (whoa, did I just throw THAT down?! Yikes!!)
Ok everyone - what are YOU going to do today?
Update:: 2:18am and I’m done. You’d think I would know by now to not commit to so much?! But I didn’t anticipate having a house full of screaming kids would be QUITE so distracting today!!!

I’ve just published my own Weekend Recovery Program, although since I’ve put out the immediate fires (everybody off to school & work; AC not working; flat tire; trip to Target; daily blog), my next task is to figure out The To Do List…all very challenging. It is good to know I’m not the only eMompreneur trying to balance it all out here in cyberspace!
I have been eagerly reading your Elite Retreat Updates — very interested to see your emomsathome To Do List resulting from that adventure, sounds like you had a tremendous experience hanging out with The Big Dogs!
Happy Monday,
Sherri
My Weekend Recovery Program/daily blog is on my Wordpress blog at http://www.rebelhousewife.wordpress.com. I’m still working on tying that in to my website…sorry!
Bald is Beautiful!
You cut 8 inches off you hair..wow!!
I also am facing a huge to-do list from Elite Retreat. What I need to do today is prioritize three things from San Fran that I want to get accomplished in the next 30 days and also get a client’s online store up and running for April 1.
David
No, no, no - I’ll only have to cut 8 inches off if I don’t get my stuff done today!!
So good to see you here David! I think that prioritization thing is key - I HAVE to get that info product done so I can roll out my other initiatives.
So much to do - so little time!
Wendy,
I hear you about the distractions. My phone has been ringing non stop and two people have come to the door. I’m just trying to crank a couple articles out. Good for you for undertaking an eBook! I’d like to do that too.
Other things on my to do list include mundane tasks like laundry, dishes, baking muffins for school lunches and my husband and I going over our monthly budget before the end of the month gets here. I wish it was Sunday. I’ll commit to promising to finish the muffins, articles and dishes. The laundry and budget may have to wait. If I don’t commit to this I’ll make myself write three articles tomorrow.
1. clean up the flat
2. show someone around it
3. sort out the alignment problem on a wordpress t/p I’m working on.
4. write a couple of pages for one of my site.
And if I don’t do it
guess I’ll probably end up lounging on the sofa watching the TV
Monday mornings are drag my feet days since I never goto bed when I need to, and they are wake up extra early to deposit the paycheck since i was lazy on friday.
Its really easy to get distracted. I’ve been working on creating my own network and all day long I keep getting distracted by phone, by the hubband, by friends..its hard to stay on track.
Wendy, I’m definitely in the same boat as you today. I keep trying to get myself going, but I’m not having any luck (I guess that’s the probably with watching your passive income increase while you do nothing). I’ll add my four things that I actually know I can do:
1) Laundry (lots of it laying around)
2) Call my writers and get them back on track (they’ve been slacking quite a bit lately)
3) Workout
4) Get a couple posts and articles done for a few of my clients
**Be cautious using Skype, there’s a nasty virus going around:

Hey Wendy! Hope you get it all done. I wasn’t even in the office long enough today to make a list or get anything done. I will be posting my list tomorrow - the list is getting out of control.
Oh I would just cut off the hair and go have a bubble bath, lol, if only they’d invent waterproof computers…sigh.
