Monday Motivation :: GTD!

Time for our weekly gauntlet throwdown…. kind of. (Haven’t had my coffee yet!!)

You know the drill by now, and here’s what I am committing to do today:

  • Finish writing my Advertising page
  • Update my blogging eCourse
  • Do whatever it takes to get the new template live - it’s been on the staging server and I flooded poor Sarah with 5 long emails full of tweaks and updates all weekend. So wrong!! ;)
(But I can only control my end of things, I can’t commit to Sarah getting it live)
  • If I don’t get my stuff done, I will give $50 to 3 random participating readers. Considering how much $$ I’m going to be giving to Kiva.org today, I really don’t want to do that!

    Here’s where you play along:

    * Leave a comment with what you are committing to get done today.
    * Let us know what your leverage is - what you will have to do if you don’t get your stuff done!
    * Feel free to report back when your To Do list has turned into your Got Done list!

UPDATE - I forgot to let you all know that I finished everything! ‘Doh! :)

I forgot to add a penalty for not getting things done. Hmmm. Better think about that one.

I guess continue to explore the blogosphere. And follow your ecourse closely step by step. :)

Btw what’s wrong with this template?

Heh - nothing’s wrong with it, really. :)

I’m 1-making it wider to gain some more space and 2-making easier to navigate now that I have been blogging for almost a year. There’s a ton of info in my archives that has gotten buried over this time, and I wanted to ensure people could find it. I’ll be curious to hear what you think when it’s done.

As my day is almost over (I’m from Europe), I’m going to tell you my GTD list for tomorrow:
    - Prepare a competition report and an offer for one of my clients
    - Write 5 posts for my blogs
    - Cook a potatoes soup
    - Take my car to the service shop to get it fixed
    - Write a presentation of my new project
    - Give my cat a pill (please don’t laugh; this simple activity takes me 30 minutes and lots of exercise)

If I don’t, my client will go to somebody else, my blogs will record less readers, we will have only one course to eat for lunch, and my cat will love me more.
Seriously, if something remains not done, I’ll give all my blog’s tomorrow earnings to a beggar (probably enough for a pizza and a soda).

I have a grant application that needs to be completely finished by this evening. I don’t really have to create a “punishment” for myself, though, as the proposal is for an organization I work with, and it would be very, very bad not to get it done!

In addition to that, I have a gigantic to-do list, but it is for the entire week, not just today. I got through several items yesterday, which is good, but there’s a long, hard row to hoe for the rest of the week.

    Wish me luck and motivation!
